1. Appearances and performances

 Juwon will appear as the compere for most concerts in the London African Music Festival from 10th - 25th September 2010. For festival details please visit www.joyfulnoise.co.uk

Juwon will perform 2 concerts in the festival with a new group that he leads - The Vocal Ensemble of Africa.

This new group features 6 singers from a wide range of African countries.

 1st performance: 12th September 2010 at Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre, opening for The London Community Gospel Choir.

2nd performance: 18th September 2010 at The Albany, Deptford - an afternoon concert, opening for Yoruba Women Choir.

Naija Groove

On 25th September at Stratford Circus, Juwon will be a featured singer in the Naija Groove concert, which will end the London African Music Festival 2010. He will appear alongside Dele Sosimi and Funmi Olawunmi in front of a band of crack Nigerian players led by Kunle Olasoju.

2. Music for theatre productions

Juwon is currently composing and directing music for two theatre productions that will tour England in the autumn.

"Burn My Heart" - a play adapted from Beverley Naidoo's award winning novel is set during the Mau Mau uprising in 1950's Kenya. Directed by Oliver Jones and presented by Trestle Theatre, this production will tour from late September through till mid November. Please visit www.trestle.org.uk for more details

 "The Good Person of Sezwuan" is Michael McMillan's adaptation of Bertolt Brecht's "The Good Person of Sezuan" for Midland Actors Theatre. Directed by David Allen and Margaret Polack, this show will tour in late September and through October. More details can be found on www.midlandactorstheatre.co.uk

Education and Community

Meanwhile, Juwon will continue to work as the lead artist for the London region on Sing Up's "Seeds and Songs" project, involving finding and creating sonngs with young people from refugee and new communities, based at Oval House, London.
